We understand that there are many questions you may have before you start your next renovation. Below, we have curated a list of the top questions asked when renovating a bathroom, which might alleviate some of your home reno qualms.

  1. What goes into a bathroom renovation?

Well, depending on what you want to achieve, a full intel of a bathroom renovation can be tricky.  Rather it may be structural changes or simple fixture replacement, there are many instances that can add, or subtract time to your bathroom renovation.  Here are some common bids of the following:

-Updating Bathroom Fixtures

-Replacing Floors

-Updating Plumbing

-Retiling Shower Walls

-Repainting Ceilings & Walls

-Replacing Ventilation System

-Updating/Rearranging Lighting

  1. Do I need a design before I start my renovation process?

No, Our Team at MentorHomes is fully aware that additional interior design services may be costly, thus, sometimes impossible to fit in the budget. Bathroom Renovations are often equipped with wide selections of fixtures, designs, and materials, don’t worry though, we are here to walk you through the process, and help you through all the design scenarios, selections, and more!

  1. When renovating a bathroom are the mechanical parts included?

If we are talking about ventilation, plumbing, and/or electrical parts- then the answer is YES! The purpose of the renovation is to do just that, renovate. This can include the replacement of old drains, replacing electrical outlets, adding new valve switches, etc. It is our job to make sure your next bathroom renovation runs smoothly, literally!

  1. Is there a specific timeline for completing bathrooms?

This is a tricky question, considering that just like any other renovations, different scenarios may arise during the process, which can ultimately set back the original timeline- or add to it (never know). However, we are always trying our best to get your job done in a timely and safe manner! Depending on the size of the project and whether or not any issues arise, a 5×8 size bathroom generally takes up to 2 weeks.

  1. Can I get a return on my investment for bathroom renovations?

Absolutely, according to statistics, prospective home buyers are more inclined to buy if a home has a renovated bathroom and/or kitchen. The National Bathroom Association determined that the ROI of a house with a renovated bathroom is between 80 to 100%. Keep in mind that the current housing market in your area can contribute to your overall investment.

  1. Do you work with a limited budget?

Of course, life is expensive and so are bathroom renovations! But do not let that stop you from achieving your dream bathroom goals, we know that it can be hard to find a contractor on a limited budget. That is where we come in, we can work within any budget restrictions set by the client, and customize any project to meet or exceed expectations.

  1. Can you work with supplies and materials that I already have?

Yes, we will happily work with any materials and/or supplies that you provide- you just pay for time & installation(other fees may apply). After all, it is YOUR home, and it makes sense that homeowners would want to supply these things.
